Fundraising Events

Councillor Colin Billany, Mayor of Hedon, chose us as his Mayoral Charity for 2019/2020.

We were proud to have been chosen by Councillor Colin Billany to be his ‘Mayoral Charity of the Year’ when he took office as Mayor of Hedon in 2019.
Through several events, Colin, supported by his lovely wife Yvonne, raised £1,000 for us at ‘Second Thoughts East Yorkshire’. We were presented with the cheque on Friday 3rd July 2020… socially distanced of course.
Colin is a wonderful man, dedicated to supporting people living in his community, and is passionate about good mental health too.
We thank Colin, Yvonne, everyone connected with the Hedon Town Council, and indeed all who donated and contributed to this incredible total.
This is so timely, given the disruption to fundraising and grant application processes, and will make a huge difference to us and our levels of support.
Thank you all so much!

Our Third Music Fundraiser broke our record (pun intended)

What an incredible night we had for our third music fundraiser!

Our very own trustee ‘Beat Robinson’ plays trombone in ‘Late Night Marauders’ and, supported by ‘Glass Diamonds’, we had over 110 people came along raising a whopping £931 for the charity!

Late Night Marauders led by whirlwind soulstress Ruthie Scott had the whole room buzzing. This was an audio and visual delight with the added bonus of raising a whopping amount for the charity too.

As well as the Late Night Marauders (above pic), we were warmed up by the support band ‘Glass Diamonds’ (pic below).

This hot six piece band rammed us all straight into top gear, setting the pace for what was to come.

The night was a fantastic success, with a great raffle to top it all. Everyone was so happy, even Greg’s jokes seemed funny!

As well as a veritable feast of funk, we had great raffle prizes too, including…

  •   £300 voucher for a themed party from Barrow & Parker
  •   £100 in vouchers for Slater Menswear
  •   Two microwave ovens donated by Edmunson Electrical
  •   Free MOT test at Salisbury Garage
  •   Two prints from acclaimed local artist Andy Pea
  •   Free photoshoot at Studio 1 in Anlaby
  •   Meal voucher for Bob Carver’s
  •   Meal voucher for Nando’s
  •   Bottles of wine & bubbly
  •   Tins of chocolates
  •   Cosmetics
  •   Cocktail shaker                                                                                     and many more…

Thank you

Thank you to the bands who played for us, particularly Peter Robinson who organised the evening for us.

We thank Lee Armstrong at Pave Bar, for allowing us to use the premises, what an ace venue, and ‘Team Pave’ were brilliant.

Many thanks to all of our raffle prize donors, with a big thanks to Craig at Barrow & Parker, Andy & Craig at Edmunson Electrical and Sue at Slater Menswear for our star prizes.

Thank you to Sarah and Sidell for checking tickets at the door, and to Pete WH and Sally for selling raffle tickets.

Finally, our greatest thanks go to everyone who attended. You are stars!
